Hero of the Seas builds on the major hallmarks of the Icon class while enhancing the experience with several major new features. The ship puts the spotlight on family vacations with more water areas, thrills, dining options, and accommodations.
On board, guests can enjoy 9 pools as well as 28 dining venues. Among the standout new features are Coconut Cove, a new Caribbean-inspired pool, Royal Railway – Hero Station, an immersive dining experience, and the Ultimate Family Treehouse, a spectacular three-level family accommodation.
Hero of the Seas offers several accommodations designed for families, groups, and travelers seeking more spacious suites. Among the signature suites, the Ultimate Family Treehouse, a three-level suite featuring a rooftop terrace with a private hot tub, offers a dedicated teen area across two levels, as well as two primary bedrooms with bathrooms and balconies.
Families will also find the three-level Ultimate Family Townhouse with direct access to the Surfside neighborhood, Surfside Family Suites, and Family Infinite Ocean View Balconies. For a more upscale experience, the ship also features Royal Loft Suites and Icon Loft Suites. Categories such as Interior Plus and Sunset Suites complete the offer with more classic, yet still comfortable, options.
Hero of the Seas places leisure at the heart of the experience with a very rich offer for all ages. Category 6 waterpark, one of the largest waterparks at sea, notably features two new family raft slides, including the first funnel raft slide at sea. Thrill seekers can also enjoy Crown’s Edge, a suspended attraction combining an aerial walkway and zip line, the FlowRider surf simulator, the Adrenaline Peak climbing wall, Lost Dunes mini-golf, and sports courts.
The ship also stands out for its particularly rich aquatic offering. In addition to its 9 pools, it introduces Coconut Cove, a new pool located near The Lime and Coconut bar, with in-water loungers and a tropical atmosphere. The adults-only Hideaway area now includes two pools, including the largest swim-up bar at sea. Signature Icon-class spaces are also present, such as Swim & Tonic and Splashaway Bay, which features new water games for younger children.
When it comes to shows, Hero of the Seas brings together several major venues with the Royal Theater, the AquaTheater, and Absolute Zero, the largest ice rink at sea. The ship also hosts concerts and entertainment in several spaces dedicated to live music and evening events.
A family ship par excellence, Hero of the Seas gives an important place to children and teenagers. The Surfside neighborhood brings together several areas designed for families, including Splashaway Bay, Baby Bay, Playscape, and Surfside Bites. Younger children will also find Adventure Ocean spaces, while teens have Social020 to meet up, relax, and enjoy activities suited to their age.
The ship also highlights new experiences to share as a family, including cooking workshops accessible to different age groups. This approach reinforces Hero of the Seas’ positioning as a ship designed to enjoy a wide variety of activities together throughout the cruise.
Hero of the Seas brings together 28 dining options, making it one of the most complete ships in the fleet in terms of gastronomy. The offering combines complimentary restaurants, specialty venues, and more immersive concepts. Among the new additions, Orleans Parish Supper Club offers a refined experience centered on Cajun and Creole cuisine in an atmosphere inspired by the French Quarter of New Orleans. Royal Railway – Hero Station also stands out for its immersive staging that blends dining, technology, and entertainment.
The ship also features several venues already well known on Royal Caribbean, such as Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar, Chops Grille, Hooked Seafood, Izumi, and Izumi in the Park. AquaDome Market enriches the offer with several counters, while more casual options such as Basecamp, El Loco Fresh, Sorrento’s, Surfside Eatery, Surfside Bites, and Windjammer make it easy to satisfy any craving at any time of day.
Bars and lounges complete the offer with very different atmospheres depending on the venue. Among the signature spots are The Lime and Coconut, Swim & Tonic, Schooner Bar, Dueling Pianos, Lou’s, Boleros, The Lemon Post, Music Hall, and The Overlook.
Hero of the Seas features several visual and architectural signatures of the Icon class. Guests will notably find the Royal Promenade, reimagined with expansive ocean views, as well as Central Park, an open-air neighborhood lined with real greenery, restaurants, and bars. The ship is also home to The Pearl, presented as the world’s largest kinetic sculpture on a cruise ship.
With its 8 neighborhoods, numerous pools, family attractions, varied restaurants, and spectacular suites, Hero of the Seas continues the legacy of the Icon class while pushing the family and immersive dimensions of the onboard experience even further.
Departing from Miami, Hero of the Seas notably offers 7-night Caribbean cruises, both Eastern and Western itineraries. Each itinerary includes a stop at Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean’s private island in the Bahamas.
Depending on the departure, these cruises allow guests to discover destinations such as Roatán in Honduras, Cozumel and Costa Maya in Mexico, as well as Philipsburg in St. Maarten and Charlotte Amalie in St. Thomas.
