To the east of the Santiago Severin Library, the Palacio Palanco catches the eye with its bow-window windows and splendid central dome. Eclectic, neo-Renaissance and neo-Baroque in style, the building houses the prefecture of the Valparaiso Carabinieri. To the west of Plaza Victoria, the Valparaiso Natural History Museum is a must-see place to immerse yourself in the culture of Chile's ancient civilizations.
