Costa Crociere, founded over 150 years ago, began with the company "Giacomo Costa fu Andrea" in Genoa, initially specializing in the sale of olive oil and textiles.
In 1948, the company launched its first passenger ship, the Anna C, marking its entry into transatlantic transport, before launching cruises in the Mediterranean and South America in the 1950s. In the 1960s and 1970s, Costa began building cruise ships dedicated exclusively to cruises, equipped with a variety of leisure facilities.
Costa Cruises revolutionized the cruise market in the 1990s by offering winter cruises in the Mediterranean, a first at the time.
With the arrival of ships like the Costa Smeralda in 2019 and the Costa Toscana in 2022, Costa Crociere has reached a new milestone in environmental innovation. These ships, powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), underline the company's commitment to more sustainable, environmentally-friendly tourism.
Today, Costa Cruises boasts a dozen modern ships and continues to offer a rich and varied cruise experience to its passengers, while remaining true to its Italian heritage and commitment to the environment.
The Costa Pacifica, which entered service in 2009, features 5 restaurants and 13 bars, including a chocolate bar. Passengers have access to 3 swimming pools, a youth water park, a 6,000 m² spa and a fitness and weight room. The Costa Pacifica also houses a 3-story theater, a casino, a nightclub and even a recording studio. As on all Costa ships, there are dedicated leisure clubs for children and teenagers. A library is available for reading enthusiasts, and the ship is decorated with 6,400 works of art.
The Costa Pacifica is generally positioned in the Caribbean, with ports of call in Guadeloupe and Martinique, Saint Lucia and the Dominican Republic. Cruises to Brazil, the Mediterranean and transatlantic crossings are also available.
The Costa Smeralda, launched in 2019, is the first ship in the Costa fleet to be powered by LNG, a transitional fuel that is cleaner than traditional marine fuel. With its 16 restaurants, 20 bars and lounges, numerous aquatic activities and a vast area dedicated to children and teenagers, the Costa Smeralda is sure to appeal to young and old alike. The ship is home to a mini-golf course, a fitness and weights room, a discotheque, a casino and a spa with 16 massage cabins. In terms of culture, there's a cinema, a large theater and even an Italian design museum.
In terms of destination, the Costa Smeralda generally focuses on the Mediterranean, with ports of call including Marseille, Cagliari and Naples. She also sails to the Emirates to discover the metropolises of the Middle East, and sometimes offers cruises combining the Mediterranean and the Emirates via the Suez Canal.
The Costa Toscana, launched in 2022, is also powered by LNG. It offers a variety of entertainment, with 19 restaurants, some 20 bars and lounges, 4 swimming pools including an indoor saltwater pool, a casino, a spa and a modern fitness center. There's also a video arcade, a theater and an auditorium on three levels. The public decks are named after Tuscan towns, adding a cultural touch to this Costa yacht.
In terms of destinations, the Costa Toscana mainly explores the Mediterranean, offering cruises linking the emblematic ports of Barcelona, Rome and Savona, as well as itineraries in the Emirates to discover Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Muscat...
The Costa Diadema, commissioned in 2014, is home to 7 restaurants and 11 themed bars. Passengers have access to 3 swimming pools, including one with retractable roof, and 8 whirlpools. For relaxation, a 6,500 m² spa offers a full range of treatments. Sports enthusiasts benefit from a jogging track, a multi-sports field and a fitness and weights room. Evening entertainment options include a three-deck theater and a casino. The ship is adorned with over 7,000 works of art, adding a touch of elegance and culture.
Costa offers numerous cruises in Northern Europe and the Scandinavian fjords aboard the Costa Diadema, notably from Copenhagen. Itineraries can also include transatlantic cruises from Marseille.
With over 150 years of experience, Costa Cruises offers a variety of cruise destinations and itineraries around the world. The company is particularly popular with families traveling with children, as well as being a choice option for couples looking for a romantic getaway.
Costa Cruises has teamed up with three Michelin-starred chefs to offer passengers a top-quality gastronomic experience. Young and old enjoy a wide range of entertainment activities. For children and teenagers, Costa Cruises has created clubs organized by age group. The Squok Club welcomes children aged 3 to 11. Activities are varied and include games, craft workshops and even meetings with mascot Peppa Pig. For teenagers, the Teen Club offers a range of activities, including sports tournaments, music and dance classes.
Costa Cruises offers cruises from many European cities, including Marseille in France, Barcelona in Spain and Savona in Italy, with itineraries in the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and the Emirates, as well as transatlantic and round-the-world cruises.

Mediterranean cruises generally depart from Marseille in France, Barcelona in Spain and Savona in Italy. Cruises to the Greek islands depart mainly from the port of Athens-Piraeus.
In the Caribbean, Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe and Fort-de-France are the preferred departure points.
In the Middle East, Dubai is the main departure port, followed by Abu Dhabi and Doha. To explore Northern Europe and the Norwegian fjords, Costa Crociere ships depart mainly from the port of Copenhagen. As for transatlantic and round-the-world cruises, they generally depart from Marseille.
Costa also offers flight-inclusive packages for many cruises. When flights are not scheduled, cruise.us offers packages with flights and transfers at the best prices, so you can easily reach your port of departure.
During the summer season, Costa Cruises sails mainly in the Mediterranean, offering departures from Marseille to explore destinations such as Italy, Corsica, the Balearic Islands and Spain, as well as the Greek islands. These Mediterranean and Greek destinations are also accessible in spring and autumn. Summer is also the ideal time to cruise Northern Europe.
In winter, Costa cruises generally head for the Caribbean, departing from Pointe-à-Pitre and Fort-de-France to visit exotic locales such as the French and Dutch Antilles, as well as Trinidad and Tobago.
Costa Crociere is one of the first cruise lines to introduce liquefied natural gas (LNG) propulsion with the Costa Smeralda in 2019, followed by the Costa Toscana in 2022. LNG propulsion significantly reduces sulfur dioxide and fine particle emissions, contributing to a lower environmental impact. Costa Crociere's ships also boast other eco-friendly features, such as desalination systems to produce water directly on board, intelligent energy management, and the use of LED lighting, demonstrating the company's commitment to more sustainable, environmentally-friendly tourism.
Costa's full-board cruises offer passengers a diverse and rich culinary experience, with a variety of flavors and dishes. The main restaurants, included in the cruise price, offer daily menus featuring Mediterranean and international cuisine. Collaboration with Michelin-starred chefs adds a unique touch: chef Bruno Barbieri creates "destination menus", special dishes reflecting the cruise's next port of call. Additional specialty restaurants offer a variety of cuisines, such as the Teppanyaki Restaurant, or the Archipelago, which features exceptional menus designed by renowned chefs Hélène Darroze and Ángel León.
Costa Cruises offers its passengers all-inclusive beverage packages. These packages allow you to enjoy a wide selection of drinks in most of the ship's restaurants and bars during their opening hours, with the exception of theme bars.
The "My Drinks" package, automatically included in the "all inclusive" and "super all inclusive" price for inside, outside and balcony cabins, offers :
The "My Drinks Plus" package is included in the "All inclusive Suite" and "Super all inclusive Suite" rates for passengers in suite cabins. In addition to the drinks included in the "My Drinks" package, it includes :
On board Costa Cruises ships, passengers enjoy a varied range of staterooms, such as inside, sea-view, balcony and suite staterooms, each offering distinct advantages. Suites, in particular, feature additional amenities such as a spacious balcony with breathtaking ocean views, access to Costa Samsara Spa services, and upscale gourmet options as well as the assistance of a personal butler. In addition, Costa Cruises offers cabin options adapted for people with reduced mobility (PRM), ensuring accessibility and comfort for all travelers. For families or groups, there are cabin options that can be arranged in double or quadruple configurations, offering flexibility and sufficient space for a pleasant stay at sea.

For families, children's programs with supervised activities are available. Costa also offers a wide choice of land excursions, enabling travelers to discover new destinations in an immersive and enriching way.
During the day, Costa Cruises recommends that you wear comfortable clothing on board its ships. Due to temperature variations at sea, it's a good idea to include warmer clothing such as a vest or windbreaker. For leisure activities, we recommend that you bring a swimsuit and sportswear. For excursions, remember to bring comfortable walking shoes and a waterproof jacket suitable for the various outings planned.
Evening dress code varies according to the theme of the event. Costa Cruises generally suggests evening dresses for women and long pants and shirts for men. Special dress codes may be required for themed evenings, such as the "soirée blanche".
