If you’re willing to trade the hustle and bustle and cheerful crowds for a wide variety of activities and all-inclusive meals, you’ll have a memorable vacation on the liveliest ships in the industry.
This is one of its key target markets. With its massive onboard water parks (WaterWorks), award-winning youth programs, and exclusive partnership with the colorful world of Dr. Seuss, Carnival is a paradise for kids and teens. Families choose this cruise line because the little ones never get bored, giving parents some much-needed downtime.
Thanks to its very social and laid-back atmosphere, it’s the favorite cruise line for groups. Whether it’s for a birthday, a bachelor or bachelorette party, or just a vacation with friends, Carnival appeals to those who love themed bars, renowned comedy clubs, and dance parties on deck.
Carnival is known for offering one of the best values on the market. It’s perfect for those who want to maximize their spending power by enjoying all-inclusive dining (with plenty of high-quality fast-food options included, like Guy Fieri’s burgers) at a price that’s often unbeatable.

Here is a compilation of the most popular tips from our customers, 100% reliable, to enhance your onboard experience
Founded in 1972 in Miami by Ted Arison, Carnival Cruise Line began with a single ship, the TSS Mardi Gras, a former transatlantic liner refitted for lively, friendly cruises. Over the decades the company expanded dramatically. In 1982 it introduced Tropicale, its first purpose-built cruise ship, debuting the now-iconic whale-tail funnel that defines the brand. The 1990s brought the Fantasy class, highlighted by Carnival Destiny in 1996, the first passenger ship to top 100,000 gross tons. Innovation continues with vessels such as Mardi Gras, launched in 2021 and packed with first-at-sea attractions. Today the Carnival fleet sails every ocean, delivering memorable cruise experiences to guests from around the world.
Carnival Cruise Line stands out for groundbreaking features that turn each voyage into a one-of-a-kind adventure. BOLT®: Ultimate Sea Coaster—one of the first roller coasters at sea—thrills riders on Mardi Gras. Other ships feature unique installations such as SkyRide, a suspended pedal track, and the WaterWorks park, ensuring fun and adrenaline for guests of every age.
Families sit at the heart of the Carnival experience thanks to distinctive programs. Seuss at Sea, inspired by the world of Dr. Seuss, offers interactive readings, costume parades, and meet-and-greets with beloved characters that delight children and parents alike. Ships also provide dedicated spaces such as Family Harbor, which combines roomy family cabins with an exclusive lounge stocked with games, snacks, and supervised activities. Age-specific clubs help young cruisers make friends and enjoy the voyage to the fullest: Camp Ocean for kids ages 2–11, Circle C for those 12–14, and Club O2 for teens 15–17, complete with music, parties, and chill zones.
From Playlist Productions musical revues to late-night laughs in the Punchliner Comedy Club, Carnival Cruise Line delivers a huge array of entertainment. Guests can join interactive game shows, belt out karaoke classics, or catch movies under the stars, keeping the ship’s vibe festive and friendly from embarkation to debarkation.
Gastronomy takes center stage across the fleet. You might sample Italian favorites at Cucina del Capitano, savor Asian dishes at JiJi Asian Kitchen, or bite into a burger at Guy’s Burger Joint, created with famed chef Guy Fieri. The sheer variety lets everyone explore new flavors while sailing between ports.
Debuting in 2021, Mardi Gras ushered in the Excel class, whose ships run on liquefied natural gas. Mardi Gras is laid out in six themed zones—including The French Quarter and The Ultimate Playground—offering diverse dining, entertainment, and recreation. Standouts include BOLT®, one of the first roller coasters at sea, signature eateries such as Emeril’s Bistro 1396™, and plentiful family-focused spaces that make every sailing unforgettable.
Introduced in 2022, Carnival Celebration extends the Excel heritage with fresh ideas. It, too, has six themed zones, among them 820 Biscayne, a nod to the line’s Miami roots. A wide selection of restaurants, bars, and live shows creates a high-energy, immersive atmosphere, backed by cutting-edge technology and spaces designed for maximum comfort and fun.
Launched in 2023, Carnival Jubilee is another Excel-class ship, known for unique areas such as Currents and The Shores, inspired by marine life and seaside landscapes. Culinary choices range from Shaquille O’Neal’s Big Chicken™ to Cucina del Capitano®, while guests enjoy inventive bars, live performances, and all-ages activities.
Joining the fleet in November 2022, Carnival Luminosa blends relaxation and entertainment with features like the Cloud 9 Spa™, multiple dining venues, and engaging stage shows. Its elegant design and bright, airy interiors create a calm retreat afloat.
Carnival Venezia arrived in May 2023, followed by Carnival Firenze in April 2024. These sister ships embody the “Fun Italian Style” concept, marrying Italian elegance with Carnival’s trademark exuberance. Venezia showcases Venice-inspired spaces such as Piazza San Marco, while Firenze celebrates Florence with Piazza Duomo. On board, guests savor Italian specialties at Il Viaggio™ and dive into a full slate of entertainment and activities for every age.
Carnival Cruise Line offers an extensive selection of Caribbean cruises, the line’s signature playground. Routes include cruises to the Bahamas, the Antilles, the Riviera Maya, and the Virgin Islands, touching sun-washed ports like Cozumel, San Juan, Grand Turk, Amber Cove, and Mahogany Bay, each blending laid-back beach time, local discovery, and water sports.
A highlight is the stop at RelaxAway – Half Moon Cay, the Carnival group’s private Bahamian island, where powder-soft sand and crystal water set the scene for kayaking, snorkeling, horseback rides, and more. Another exclusive call, Celebration Key on Grand Bahama, has welcomed cruisers since 2025. Spanning five themed zones, this private haven features a sweeping white-sand beach, freshwater lagoons, an adults-only club with villas and an infinity pool, and a spectrum of family activities from splash parks and beach sports to slides, kayak tours, live shows, and varied entertainment.
Carnival also offers cruises to Alaska, Mediterranean cruises, cruises to Northern Europe and cruises to Australia.
Carnival Cruise Line pursues an active policy of social and environmental responsibility. The company invests in cleaner technology, notably its Excel-class LNG ships—Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration, and Carnival Jubilee—which sharply cut greenhouse-gas and particulate emissions. On board, advanced waste-management, water-treatment, and energy-efficiency systems are standard. Carnival also supports local initiatives in its port communities, focusing on education, healthcare, and humanitarian aid.
For the Caribbean and Bahamas, the prime window runs from December to April, bringing sunny, dry weather. The hotter, livelier summer months also draw many families looking for fun. In Alaska the ideal season is May through September; while summer is busiest, the quieter spring or fall offers a more intimate feel. Mediterranean sailings stretch from May to October, peaking in summer for beach-centric calls, but spring and early autumn—when crowds thin—are perfect for leisurely exploring coastal cities. Northern Europe shines from June to August with fjords, coastal capitals, and lush scenery, though selected winter itineraries even let you chase the Northern Lights. South of the equator, Australia’s cruise season runs mainly from October to March, right in the heart of its summer.
On Carnival Cruise Line, children must be at least six months old on embarkation day for most voyages, including domestic and European itineraries. For transocean crossings or remote routes featuring more than two consecutive days at sea, the minimum age rises to twelve months.
Carnival does not maintain a permanent child rate but occasionally rolls out promotional deals. Frequently, however, the third and fourth guests sharing the same stateroom receive a discount, helping families sail at a lower overall cost.
Carnival cruises heading to the Caribbean depart mainly from four key US ports: Miami, Port Canaveral, Galveston in Florida, and Tampa in Texas. Whether you're embarking on a cruise from Miami, a cruise from Port Canaveral, a cruise from Galveston, or a cruise from Tampa, each port offers easy access to a wide selection of itineraries to the Caribbean, the Bahamas, or Mexico.
Your fare covers accommodations, meals in main dining rooms and buffets, access to pools, slides, shows, youth and teen clubs, and the fitness center. Complimentary beverages include tap water, lemonade, iced tea, drip coffee, regular tea, and hot chocolate, available in the main dining room and at the Lido Marketplace. Specialty restaurants, alcoholic beverages, shore excursions, and spa services carry extra charges. Canned sodas, specialty coffees, bottled juices, and bottled water are also extra but can be purchased individually or through optional packages such as CHEERS!—which bundles alcoholic drinks and select non-alcoholic beverages—or Bottomless Bubbles for unlimited soft drinks.
